Reflection
For this charcoal drawing, I chose to do a portrait of my sister based on her senior photo. My favorite part of this project was being able to go in my own direction with my artwork and choose what I wanted to draw. I enjoyed getting to work with charcoal because it is not something that I have a lot of experience with. It was also fun to get to practice shading and creating different textures using only a select few tools. I liked how forgiving the charcoal was and how easy it was to blend. The hardest part of creating this piece was making the proportions right on my drawing. This was hard for me because I struggled to make proportions based on my inspiration photo rather than simply drawing from memory. Overall, this was a really fun project that allowed me to learn more about portraits and charcoal elements. |
